Hospital patients fighting COVID-19 in Kosovo were pleasantly surprised to receive a delicious and healthy snack during the pandemic. This year’s superb berry season coincided with the challenges of the global pandemic.
While the pandemic has brought operational challenges to the private sector, it has also been an opportunity for showing generosity to others. It was in this spirit that the National Raspberry Association, ‘Mjedra e Kosoves,’ donated 600 boxes of fresh raspberries and blueberries valued at €1,500 to patients affected by COVID-19. The members of the raspberry association donated the fresh berries to assist patients at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo in Pristina.
The association will continue donating fresh berries to other hospital patients, prioritizing the wards that are treating patients affected by the pandemic. The National Raspberry Association, ‘Mjedra e Kosoves,’ is supported by USAID’s Agricultural Growth and Rural Opportunities activity.
