The latest cohort of New Media School students was recently awarded certificates for completing the five-month training program. The 30 participants successfully concluded training sessions and practical assignments, studied new techniques on social media management, including video production and infographics, and learned how to strengthen voter outreach.
“This is an excellent example of how USAID is investing in youth by providing opportunities for them to shape the future of Kosovo,” said Michael Stievater, a Democracy Officer with USAID/Kosovo. He was joined by Alex Chavaria, NDI’s Country Director, who emphasized that “the success of the participants would not have been possible without the support and active engagement of the political party branch leaders from the respective geographic areas.”
The participants in this latest cohort came from different ethnic groups and from across Kosovo’s political spectrum. The program gives them an opportunity to network and connect with each other, and many of the youth attending the program are now working closely with their party leadership on managing social media content and communication strategies.
The New Media School is implemented in partnership with the National Democratic Institute.
