USAID Career Center is showing it’s serious about inclusivity. On October 2nd, 2017, the two Casablanca-based USAID Career Centers (Vocational Career Center and the Hassan II University Career Center) participated as a partner and service provider in the third edition of the "Disability Employment Forum” organized by the Espoir Maroc Association in partnership with the national employment agency (ANAPEC), Social Development Agency (ADS), and the Association for the Social and Professional Integration of Disabled People (ADAPT). This event aimed to encourage people with disabilities to enter the job market by connecting them to job recruiters and employers.

More than 20 companies’ partners from different sectors participated in this event to meet the candidates, answer questions, and present job opportunities. Throughout the event, USAID Career Center’s presence was strong, offering interested participants with career advice, on-site coaching, resumé editing, and inviting them to visit the nearest Career Center and sign up on the Virtual Career Center (www.careercenter.ma) to benefit from more services. Career Center was able to reach out to nearly 90 youth during this one-day event.

USAID Career Center also invited ten members of another USAID partner, La Colombe Blanche, an association advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, to also participate in the event. Before the event, Career Center conducted a two-day training with La Colombe Blanche on strategic career planning, including tips to helping youth find a job, interview techniques, and connecting with the private sector. After stopping by the Career Center stand at the Forum, 25 year old Abderrahmane Aazal said, "I want to thank the Career Center team for helping me edit my resumé and for their advice."

USAID Career Center and La Colombe Blanche are both committed to inclusiveness. By partnering together for a common cause, these two organizations are able to learn from one another and work hand in hand to ensure a better future for people with disabilities.
