THE USAID ACCESS PROGRAM IS WORKING WITH MADAGASCAR’S MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH TO PREVENT, DIAGNOSE AND TREAT MALARIA AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL.
Video Transcript
Some people only start using their bed net in the middle of the night,
when they start feeling cold.
Unfortunately anopheles mosquitoes have already bitten them multiple times.
Children are the most affected and many of them have to miss weeks of school.
Others think that bed nets are for corpses.
Community Health Volunteers (CHV) are constantly educating people about the benefits of sleeping under a bed net
because we all know that malaria is a deadly disease.
Children are the most affected and many of them have to miss school.
THE USAID ACCESS PROGRAM IS WORKING WITH MADAGASCAR’S MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH TO PREVENT, DIAGNOSE AND TREAT MALARIA AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL.
We regularly use mass education to reach everyone with key messages,
and also conduct home visits.
[men and women are all invited to attend today's session]
Everyone who comes to our community health hut for a diagnostic test and who receives treatment is satisfied.
MALARIA RESPONSE ACTIVITIES ARE VITAL DURING EPIDEMICS.
THE USAID ACCESS PROGRAM SUPPORTS COMMUNITY HEALTH VOLUNTEERS LIKE LEANY FAMENO
WITH TOOLS AND SKILLS TO ADVANCE NATIONAL EFFORTS TO END MALARIA.
I really love my job and I can see tangible impacts on people's health.
Now, every family in my community properly uses mosquito bed nets.
