Across Libya, USAID promotes women’s economic empowerment, political participation, and civic engagement. USAID works with women from different sectors to ensure that they realize their economic potential - to prosper in the workplace, to succeed as entrepreneurs and to promote practices and policies that increase women’s economic empowerment. USAID also works with female local activists, civil society organizations, and governmental offices to advance the participation of women in decision-making processes, promote the protection of human rights, and encourage policies that improve women’s participation in the political and civic spheres.
