U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean John Barsa will travel to Jamaica October 29 - November 1, 2019.
During his trip, Assistant Administrator Barsa will meet with Government of Jamaica officials and key stakeholders to discuss efforts to continue to advance security, prosperity, and resilience in the Caribbean. He will also visit sites where USAID is helping the country advance along its journey to self-reliance.
Assistant Administrator Barsa's trip coincides with USNS Comfort's medical mission to Jamaica. Assistant Administrator Barsa will see first-hand how U.S. service members and medical professionals work alongside host nations to provide medical assistance in communities with urgent health care needs and demonstrate the commitment to strengthen regional medical capacity.
