On September 30, 2019, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green met in Washington, D.C., with David Gressly, Emergency Ebola Response Coordinator (EERC) for the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Administrator Green and EERC Gressly spoke about the need to improve engagement with communities affected by Ebola, bolster primary health care in the Eastern DRC, and heighten coordination with all response partners. The Administrator also emphasized the importance of ensuring that efforts to contain the current outbreak of Ebola also help health institutions and communities in the DRC to stop future outbreaks of the disease.
