U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for the Bureau of Europe and Eurasia Brock Bierman will travel to Skopje and Struga, North Macedonia April 21-24.
During his visit, Assistant Administrator Bierman will deliver remarks on the opening day of the inaugural meeting of the European Democracy Youth Network (EDYN), a community of young leaders across Europe and Eurasia seeking to exchange ideas, approaches, and experiences to strengthen civil dialogue and democratic engagement in their countries.
EDYN, launched by USAID in December 2018, will equip politically active young people from a diverse array of countries, political parties, and civil society organizations with the skills and tools they need to achieve their policy, political, and advocacy goals while fostering a forum for collaboration across political and geographic divides. This first meeting will gather approximately fifty new members from 15 countries for a week of mentorship, training, and dialogue on the common challenges young people and democracies face across the region.
