USAID health programs complement our humanitarian response, including supporting emergency services to provide effective and sustainable access to water, sanitation and hygiene, helping prevent violence toward women and girls, and providing services for those affected by gender-based violence. USAID is maintaining critical health services including procurement, delivery and warehousing of essential pharmaceuticals and health commodities, disease surveillance and response, programs to prevent and treat tuberculosis and HIV, and childhood immunization, including polio.
