U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance Tim Ziemer is traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda as part of a U.S. government delegation led by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.
The delegation will reaffirm U.S. commitment and support for ending the second largest Ebola outbreak on record, as well as discuss response efforts with government officials, World Health Organization leadership, and other local, national, and international leaders working to end the outbreak. In addition, the delegation will engage with community leaders and visit USAID- supported programs in Ebola-affected areas.
