The following is attributable to Acting Deputy Spokesperson Ryan Essman:
Today, U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Mark Green met with Nepal Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada during which Administrator Green reaffirmed USAID's commitment to its strong partnership with Nepal. The Administrator and Minister discussed how the U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy is aligned with the Government of Nepal's priorities of promoting a market-based economy, supporting good governance, and strengthening regional connectivity, all of which contribute to Nepal's journey to self-reliance and the Government of Nepal's vision of becoming a middle-income country by 2030. Administrator Green also encouraged the Government of Nepal to continue steps to enable a transparent regulatory environment.
