Muchas gracias. [ENGLISH] Hi. My name is Anu Rajaraman and I have the honor of being the Director of the Agency of the United States for International Development (USAID) in Guatemala. Through our Strategy for Interaction with Indigenous Peoples, we recognize that working with and for Indigenous Peoples contributes to promoting leadership, self-sufficiency and recognition of Your rights. We firmly believe that a country and a society can achieve sustainable development if we listen, dialogue and talk with Indigenous Peoples about their development priorities and the way they want to solve the challenges they face. We work so that women, indigenous men and youth can fully participate in spaces for taking decisions that allow achieving sustainable and inclusive development. On the International Day of Indigenous Peoples I want to reiterate our commitment to guarantee a development that takes into account the perspective of Indigenous Peoples to promote their rights, define their own priorities and promote their self-sufficiency. Thank you.
