Zambia: Small Project Assistance (SPA) Program Supports Women's Group
Using a SPA grant from USAID, a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia helped a local women’s group establish a garden to improve nutrition and help women build business skills. The garden expanded year-round access to nutritious produce, generated income for a local women’s club, and created opportunities for women to start their own home gardens. Members of the group also gained valuable business and financial skills by marketing and selling seeds and using the profits to invest in new businesses.
