The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) is a USAID-funded activity that collaborates with international, regional, and national partners to monitor and analyze relevant data and information to identify and provide early warning and vulnerability information on emerging and evolving threats to food security. This dataset documents ten years, from 2002 to 2012, of cereal price fluctuations across twenty-five African countries. These numbers provide a month-by-month record of the degree and scope of price crises as well as undisturbed cereal markets in Africa. No personal identifiable information was collected in this dataset.
