U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Margot Ellis will travel to Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Austria, and Belgium October 9-28.
In Armenia, Ellis will provide remarks at an event hosted by the USAID Mission commemorating 25 years of partnership between USAID and the Armenian people. She will also meet with partners and visit project sites. Ellis will then travel to Georgia, where she will meet with officials from the European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia, and representatives from USAID-supported programs.
In Romania, Ellis will lead the U.S. delegation at the second U.S.-Romania Development Dialogue, which will explore possible joint projects in information and communications technology and tourism. Ellis will also launch the next phase of USAID's grant to the Black Sea Trust.
In Belgium, Ellis will meet with leadership at the European Union's (EU) Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.
From Belgium, Ellis will travel to Austria to meet with the director of the Energy Community Secretariat to discuss integrating USAID-partner countries into EU gas and electricity markets.
