U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Bonnie Glick will travel to Indianapolis and West Lafayette, Indiana, from August 12-13, 2019.
During her visit, Deputy Administrator Glick will meet with Elanco, a company that promotes animal health as a means of advancing global health and food security. She will also meet with Purdue University leaders, including President Mitch Daniels and Distinguished Professor Gebisa Ejeta, the 2009 World Food Prize Laureate.
On August 13, 2019, Deputy Administrator Glick will participate in a roundtable with business leaders and community members to discuss USAID's role in advancing American foreign policy and commerce. She will also visit Purdue University in West Lafayette to tour its food and plant-science facilities and meet with USAID-funded researchers. While there, she will announce a new, multi-year partnership between USAID and Purdue to reduce global hunger, poverty, and malnutrition.
