Overview

This chapter establishes the policies and required procedures for USAID’s Foreign Service Promotion Boards, which make promotion recommendations for Foreign Service (FS) career and career candidate employees from classes FS-04 to FS-01 who are eligible for promotion; and for Consolidated Senior Foreign Service Performance Board, which assess performance and make promotion recommendations for those in the Senior Foreign Service (SFS). In addition, these Boards assign A, B and C ratings based on the criteria in the precepts (see ADS 463mai, Precepts for Foreign Service Promotion Boards).
