The 2017 Acting on the Call Summit was held on August 24-25 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This was an opportunity for ministers of health, key country stakeholders, NGOs, private sector and donors to share best practices and commit to actions to accelerate reductions in child and maternal deaths. This event played a critical role in creating and maintaining momentum to reach maternal and child survival goals by encouraging commitments and providing accountability for progress. The 2017 conference celebrated progress to date, shared lessons learned, and identified the key actions required to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 targets as reflected in the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s, and Adolescents’ Health.
