Speeches Shim
Cory Johnston is a career Foreign Service Officer with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In August 2019, he became the USAID Country Representative in Burkina Faso. In that role, he works as part of the larger Sahel Regional Office at USAID/Senegal and with USAID/West Africa to manage a portfolio of activities in Burkina Faso valued at $43 million in FY 2018.
Prior to Burkina Faso, Mr. Johnston served as the Democracy and Governance Office Director in USAID/Kyrgyz Republic (2015-19), USAID/Democratic Republic of Congo (2013-15), and USAID/Russia (2010-12). Other USAID assignments include Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.
Mr. Johnston holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Colgate University and an M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
