For the fourth year in a row, USAID sponsored the Mogadishu Book Fair in support of this Somali-driven campaign for literacy and learning. From August 21-23 local and international authors awed their audience with readings and discussions; thousands of books were exhibited and bought by enthusiastic youth; artistic groups performed on stage; and hundreds of children witnessed folk tales being reenacted in the outdoor storytelling tent mounted for the event.
