The Territories of Life Activity strengthens the capacity of indigenous organizations and traditional authorities in the Amazon Basin to govern their territories. The activity provides technical assistance to five indigenous community organizations to establish and manage Indigenous Community Conservation Areas (ICCAs). This activity runs from April 2020-March 2023.
The Amazon Indigenous Rights and Resources Activity (AIRR) encourages indigenous peoples’ participation in the sustainable economic development of the Amazon to preserve biodiversity and reduce CO2 emissions caused by forest loss.
Natural Wealth works with the Government of Colombia (GOC) to preserve biodiversity in the tropical dry forests on the Caribbean and in the grasslands and freshwater ecosystems in Orinoquia. This activity is being executed in the departments of Bolívar, Casanare, Cesar, La Guajira, Sucre and Vichada and it runs from March 2017 – March 2022.
The Land for Prosperity Activity works with the Government of Colombia to foster rural economic development by addressing the challenges stemming from informal land rights. The activity is focused on land titling programs, strengthening government capacities to manage land, and creating legal economic opportunities in violence-affected areas.
